Challenges Faced:
The primary challenge was to ensure that the new floor would not only look stunning but also provide lasting comfort and durability. The client desired a modern look with the added complexity of integrating underfloor heating for a touch of luxury and warmth.
Solutions Delivered:
To meet these needs, we began by fitting insulated backer boards throughout the kitchen area, ensuring a stable and energy-efficient base for the tiling. Underfloor heating mats were then installed, guaranteeing a cosy atmosphere during the colder months.
Following the heating installation, the entire floor was primed with Tilemaster Primeplus to enhance the adhesion of subsequent layers. It was then levelled using Tilemaster Rapid Level 30 to create a perfectly flat surface for tiling.
For the tiles, we selected large format porcelain tiles measuring 1200×600, laid in a brick bond pattern to create visual interest and a sense of space. This choice not only modernised the kitchen but also made it feel more expansive and inviting. All materials were supplied by Homematas in Bamber Bridge, Preston
Outcome:
The project was completed by grouting with Tilemaster 3000 in natural grey, which complemented the tiles’ sleek look. Additionally, a tiled skirting was fitted, expertly cut from the full tiles and finished with a midnight black metal trim for a sophisticated and cohesive appearance.
Conclusion:
This kitchen floor tiling project in Whittle le Woods stands as a testament to Tile Style Lancashire Ltd’s dedication to quality and customer satisfaction. By combining luxury with practicality, we transformed a standard kitchen into a warm, inviting, and stylish space that the homeowners can enjoy for years to come.
